SUMMARY:ART AND THE TRAIN SUNDAY 5th OCTOBER 2025 Andrew Ashton
DESCRIPTION:ART AND THE TRAIN\nA talk by art historian Andrew Ashton \n  \nTrains have been represented in art for nearly 200 years. This talk will look at the different\nways in which railways have been portrayed over this time. \nInterestingly\, people have very different ideas about what is a ‘good’ train painting. Trains\nand railways offer the chance for a very broad range of approaches. Be it technical\naccuracy\, the excitement of speed\, nostalgia or something much more avant-garde\, the\nsubject offers endless possibilities. \n \n2025 OCTOBER Art & the Train (1) \n£3 members\, £5 non-members
