Mountwise is a self‑standing 8ft × 2ft DCC‑controlled terminus layout designed to represent a compact but busy suburban or regional costal station. Its flexible scenic style allows it to sit comfortably anywhere between the late 1980s and modern day, simply by changing the stock and road vehicles in use. This makes Mountwise ideal for club nights, exhibitions, and themed running sessions.
Concept & Setting
Mountwise is built around the idea of a small but important end‑of‑line station, serving commuters, local services, and occasional inter‑regional trains. The surrounding scenery blends:
- Brick and concrete station architecture
- A compact yard area for parcels or fuel
- A road interchange suitable for buses, taxis, and modern traffic
- A backdrop that can be dressed for BR Blue, Sectorisation, Privatisation, or Contemporary eras
This gives members the freedom to run anything from Class 31s and 47s to Voyagers, Turbostars, Electrostars, or even modern freight trip workings.
