As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding year, everyone at the Gravesend Railway Enthusiasts Society (GRES) would like to wish our members, friends, supporters, and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
This year has been a particularly special one for the Society. We celebrated our 50th Model Railway Exhibition at Northfleet, which showcased not only excellent layouts and traders, but also the strength of our Society and the dedication of its members. Alongside this, our exhibition wagon proudly marked a remarkable milestone — 50 years of GRES model railway exhibitions in total — a true testament to the commitment and passion that has defined the Society over many decades.
We’ve also enjoyed attending a number of model railway exhibitions throughout the year,
meeting fellow enthusiasts, sharing knowledge, and proudly representing GRES within the
wider railway community.
Our own GRES Family Day was a real highlight — a fantastic celebration of community, railways, and fun, made all the more memorable by the enthusiasm and support of everyone who attended. Family Day 2026 is currently in development. Follow the link here if you would like to get involved as a trader or exhibitor.

None of this would be possible without the continued support of our Society members, along with their friends and families, who give their time, energy, and encouragement throughout the year. Your involvement is what keeps GRES thriving.

As the festive season arrives, we hope you enjoy a well-earned rest, good company, and plenty of festive cheer. We look forward to another exciting year ahead, filled with exhibitions, events, and shared railway memories.
We will be attending our last exhibition for 2025, the Maidstone and Mid Kent Model Railway Exhibition. If you are looking for somewhere to go between Christmas and New Year, pop along to see us, where we will have the Gravesend West and Windmill Hill on display.
🎁 Season’s Greetings, and best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
Warm regards,
The GRES Committee
