                                            Society Secretary Long Service Presentation

July 3rd 2007 was a special day in the history of GRES, when the double event of the 80th birthday of our Secretary, Geoff Livesey and the achievement over 25 years of dedicated service to GRES  was marked with the presentation of a framed picture of two Eastern Region expresses passing the famous diamonds at Newcastle.

Geoff has been a member for over 25 years and during that time and has held most of the committee posts. He has been a tireless advocate and ambassador for GRES and a great enthusiast of railways all his life, no doubt in part due to being the son of a railway man. If that wasn't enough, he is also a keen radio ham and has also managed to fit in being a past president of the Amateur Radio Society.

And just to add that he and his wife Jessie have recently celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.

We wish Geoff (on the left) and his family good luck for the future.
