Kent Rail This website aims to look at the railways of Kent and the general South Eastern Division from a historical perspective, mainly concentrating on the development of infrastructure (stations and actual routes), locomotives and rolling stock in the region.

Railway Cigarette cards   Interesting collection of Ogdens cigarette cards from the 1920's and 30's

Crampton Tower  This fascinating small museum is partly housed in a flint tower adjacent to the Broadstairs Railway Station. The museum contains artifacts associated with local transport and also features  Thomas Russel Crampton, chiefly remembered as a designer of locomotives and of railways.

Railway Associations in London R.A.I.L. provides a conduit for exchange of information between railway groups, and also undertakes a range of joint publicity and social activities.

Thames & Medway Canal Association  Promotes the use of the Thames and Medway Canal as a multipurpose amenity.

Gravesend Historical Society Formed in 1924 the Society  encompasses the surrounding Parishes in the Gravesham Borough Council area in North West Kent. The society hold a series of winter lectures and  summer visits.

Northfleet History Group Dedicated to preserving and protecting the history of Northfleet

Thames Tugs  A tribute to the Thames ship handling tugs 1833-1992

Gravesend - Tilbury Railway Ferries  A series of postcards and photographs devoted to the Tilbury-Gravesend railway ferries which operated the service from 1862 to 1984.

East Kent Light Railway  Preserving the last remaining part of the Kent Coalfields railways.  Trains currently run from Shepherdswell to Eythorne (a round trip of 4 miles).  The Railway is also home to the EPB group who preserve and restore Southern Region electric trains
Lincoln Railway society     Formed in 1979 to cater for the interests of all rail enthusiasts, both young and not so young!
Steam Sounds UK   one of the largest resources on the web for UK steam railway sound recordings. Over 400 mp3 recordings available here and at the steam sounds archive for free download.
The Gravesend Model Marine and Engineering Society (GMMES) is a small friendly club, whose home track is situated in North Kent overlooking the estuary of the river Thames. Their miniature steam railway offers train rides for children and adults every Sunday afternoon from 2: PM until 5 PM, from early spring to late autumn.
