Welcome to the website of Gravesend Railway Enthusiasts Society (GRES). We hope you will find something to interest you.

Formed in 1970 by a group of enthusiasts with an interest in transport and railways in particular, the tradition carries on today, with interests as diverse as shipping, buses and trams.

We hold 20 meetings a year at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Windmill Street Gravesend with speakers on a wide range of transport related subjects. There is also a newsletter "GRES Railway Journal", published ten times a year, exhibitions, an annual coach outing, plus visits to other railway and transport sites.

 Although we have no modelling facilities, this remains very much an interest of many of our members, some of whom  exhibit at the various railway modelling shows throughout the South East of England.
