Welcome to the website of Gravesend Railway Enthusiasts Society (GRES). This year we celebrate 40 years since our societies foundation, and will be having some special events to mark the occasion, so keep looking at our Society Events page for details. In the meantime, you might like to read a history of the Society 

We are a group of enthusiasts with an interest in transport and railways in particular, with interests as diverse as shipping, buses and trams.

The Society holds 20 meetings a year at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Windmill Street Gravesend with speakers on a wide range of transport related subjects. There is also a newsletter "GRES Railway Journal", published ten times a year, exhibitions, an annual coach outing, plus visits to other railway and transport sites.

 Although we have no modelling facilities, this remains very much an interest of many of our members, some of whom  exhibit at the various railway modelling shows throughout the South East of England.
